LPG
Cylinders
LPG cylinders are often used an alternative to
mains gas when the property cannot get an easy
connection to the grid. In those situations it
can simply be too expensive to take that route,
so this is the option many homeowners choose instead.

LPG cylinders are installed outside of your property,
and connected with a valve/hose arrangement. These
regulators can connect up to four gas bottles
together and often incorporate automatic changeover
valves that will seamlessly start another gas
bottle after the first has emptied.
Once all of the bottles are empty its simply a
case of ringing a supplier such as Calor, who
will come out to your property and replace your
cylinders.

Another solution is bulk storage vessels that
can be hidden underground so they are out of sight.
They consist of a large container with 1st and
2nd stage regulators that reduce the pressure
within the vessel down to an useable level. LPG
can often be compared in running costs to Oil
when looking at price per KWh. (July 2008)
